Samantha and Eric have been portrait clients of ours since bringing their darling baby girl to us last January. We felt an instant connection with them, as Eric and James couldn’t stop chattering about their die-hard love of the San Diego Chargers. By the end of their first session, we were discussing getting together for football games and BBQ’s. Suffice it to say that when Eric and Samantha asked us about photographing their wedding this September in Lake Tahoe, we were thrilled and honored! Last month we went out to McKinley park with them for their engagement session, and true to form, these two are always a blast! We’ve never seen a couple so much in love, so excited about their wedding, and just thrilled about life in general. We are excited beyond belief to photograph their wedding at Lake Tahoe this Sunday, which also happens to be the season opener for the Chargers. Now you know how much James thinks of this couple, because I can’t imagine that he would work on that day for anyone but these two! Congrats to Eric and Sam, and GO CHARGERS!

We took this at the end the evening, after having dinner together. We couldn’t resist this shot, as Eric and Samantha actually met at the gym!
Thought i’d share an example of how the girls always act when they are together.
Ok, maybe not ALL the time…
Ok, maybe just for 1/250th of a second…but wow they sure are cute!
Meet the handsome Baby B ! You might recall this lovely family from their maternity portraits, shown in this post. We met the Ferrell family through our friends at the Silver Spoon children’s boutique (www.silverspoonchildren.com). They are one of the nicest families we’ve met and they have the most unbelievably beautiful children! Baby B is the newest addition to their family, and his hair was so cool! Big sis, L, was so sweet with baby brother; not shown is middle child, brother W, who had more important things to do that day than sit for a portrait! Not to worry, though; we just saw W and photographed him all by himself and he was awesome…stay tuned for those! We could go on all day about this family and how much we enjoy them, but I think you get the picture (no pun intended!).

You may remember Barbara from this post with her grandson. This time she came with her daughter and granddaughter, and wow, what a beautiful group they were. Miss H really got into it and gave us quite the show. She was all about looking ‘just right’ in the studio, and once we got her with grandma, things turned into a hugfest. A really, really nice time. Thanks!

Big girl school has arrived for Reilly. Stef and I walked with her to make sure she could handle this big jump to first grade. We arrived at campus fully prepared for tears, anxiety and everything else that accompanies a young girl on the first day.
Well, she could have cared less about all that….
Within seconds Reilly disappeared into the labyrinth of backpacks, lunches and old friends. Stef and I might have well not even been there. I tried to get a hug…and FINALLY got it…but it took some threats of embarrassment to get it.
She’s a big girl now…
Too big…

Little L here came to us a little older than usual for a first timer, but hey, there’s no time limit for cute! And how about that hair! Thanks Shelly for waiting on that trim, we really liked the doo.
We got to see the little guy yesterday when Shelly came to pick up her lovely canvases. He just sat there laughing and making all sorts of fun sounds. Thanks for brightening our afternoon!

On a fairly regular basis, the girls and I like to roughouse a little. It never really gets out of hand (c’mon, they’re girls), but I always know things are about to get serious when Teagan says “Dad, take your glasses off.”
For some reason tonight I thought there is a message in that for us all. Be it Carpe Diem, live life to the fullest, there is no tomorrrow…there are a million quotes to express the sentiment, I don’t know if I’ve ever heard it put more succinctly than from our three year old. Ok, maybe Nike…
Anyway…
Take your glasses off.

It’s version 2 of the Pagel Bebe, this time they decided to have their maternity session on location. We chose the lovely sculpture park in Roseville which looks very warm and golden this time of year. Somebody forgot to tell Miss G this wasn’t necessarily her session so she um…kind of stole the show. She is pretty darn cute though…
Congratulations Lance & Natalie on new baby G! (not to be confused with older sister G)
