Our journey with Crissy and Anthony began a few years ago with the birth of their son, Gabe.  When we heard they were getting married we were of course thrilled they wanted us to photograph it.   It’s a special treat to be photographing a wedding for people we know so well, so it was no surprise their engagement session was a joy.  I felt like a fly on the wall watching these two on a long date.  We started at the brew pub where Anthony proposed and had a beer (or two), then it was off to the lake.  Crissy was just coming off knee surgery and was a real trooper during our long stroll in and out of the water.  Thank you both for including Stef and I in this special time in your lives.  We are excited to hear what the future holds for you.

Just over a week ago we had the great privilege of photographing Kaitlyn & Ian’s wedding at the Firehouse in Old Sacramento.  Every wedding we photograph is so special, for so many reasons, and this was no different.  The first time we photographed Kaitlyn she was not quite 14; we met her family and did their first session with us when their twins (now 8) were 8 weeks old.  Over the past 8 years we have photographed the Gilliland’s countless times (there are 5 kiddos, Kaitlyn the oldest), including Kaitlyn’s senior portraits we did at a destination session in San Diego a few years ago.  Not only has the Gilliland family been a long-time client, they have also become dear friends over these past 8 years.  So, you can imagine the myriad of emotions we felt when photographing this wedding!  James and I both have quite a difficult time holding ourselves together at any wedding, but during this one, we shed tears more than once.  It’s hard to describe the emotions when as photographers, we’re not only entrusted to document this momentous day, but the family also includes us in the festivities as we are guests (sorry Steph–Kaitlyn’s mom–for not putting down our cameras and dancing, but I’m sure you’ll forgive us! :-).

Kaitlyn & Ian–thank you both for putting your trust in us and giving us so much time with you both on your wedding day, even when I’m sure you would have rather been enjoying your party.  The images with the bridge in the background were toward the end of their reception, when most people would have said “the heck with photos, let’s just enjoy this party!”  Totally worth the time (and the walk through Old Sac!).  I could write all day about how special this young couple and their family are to us, but I’m sure everyone would rather just get on to looking at this sneak peek from their wedding day.  Enjoy!

You may remember these lovely folks from their wedding sneak peek a while back.  There were just too many great images not to share more, so enjoy this, the story of two wonderful people committing their lives to each other and allowing us the privilege of capturing it, beginning with the wedding rehearsal!

Romantic.  Elegant.  Emotional.  I could go on an on with words to describe Roxie and Brett’s wedding last weekend, but these three epitomize for us the entire event.  We were honored and thrilled when Roxana asked us to photograph their wedding, as we know her sister quite well and photographed their entire extended family several years ago.  When tears came to her eyes as she first described to us how she wanted her wedding to feel and what was most important to her, we knew this was going to be special.  The event took place over several days at the Forest House Lodge in Foresthill, CA–an incredible venue that fit Roxie and Brett perfectly!  Their wedding was marked with not just one ceremony but two; first a traditional American ceremony set in the trees overlooking a beautiful view of the foothills, followed by a Persian ceremony at the Lodge.  What a treat!  We had never witnessed a Persian ceremony before, and it was simply wonderful.  We want to thank you, Roxie and Brett for inviting us to be a part of your day and your lives; words cannot describe how honored we are that you entrusted us with such an important time in your lives.

If you visit our blog regularly, you’ll recall a sneak peek of Thomas & Kasie’s gorgeous wedding a while back.  There were just too many fantastic images from the day not to share more.  They were married at Serrano Country Club in El Dorado Hills, and it was certainly a day to remember!  Everything about this day was perfect–even the clouds!  A few more images to celebrate the new Mr. & Mrs. Eaton:

When I think about this amazing wedding we photographed on Saturday, the word that first comes to my mind is spectacular! While we don’t commission very many weddings, the ones we are lucky enough to be a part of tend to be out of this world–this event at Serrano Country Club definitely fit that bill!  Kasie and Thomas’ wedding was especially meaningful to us, as I (Stef) have known Kasie since 3rd grade.  We were so honored when Kasie asked us to photograph this monumental event.  We couldn’t wait to share a few images from the day, and while every detail of this wedding was planned and executed to perfection, what stood out more than anything to us was the pure outpouring of emotion that flowed throughout the day.  From Kasie’s mom pinning a family heirloom handkerchief to her gown, to the private moment when Kasie & Thomas first saw each other before the ceremony, one thing was certain–love was the theme of the day.  Kasie & Thomas, we wish you a lifetime of happiness and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us to be so intimately involved in this day.  We also want to thank our great friend and colleague, Melissa Hathaway, for making the trek from Portland to help capture some of the amazing images from the event.  Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Eaton:

On Sunday (opening day for the Chargers!) we were honored to be photographing Samantha & Eric’s wedding at Edgewood South Lake Tahoe, referred to by them and their wedding party as “The London Experience” (their last name). We were so excited to share in this event, as these are two of the most head-over-heels-in-love people we’ve ever met. Our expectations were great, and they were fulfilled! Combine the gorgeous weather, the most stunning bride, an elated groom and the majestic backdrop of Lake Tahoe, and you have a perfect day. Sam & Eric, thank you for allowing us to be a part of the most amazing day! Can’t wait for Monday Night Football….go Bolts!

Samantha and Eric have been portrait clients of ours since bringing their darling baby girl to us last January. We felt an instant connection with them, as Eric and James couldn’t stop chattering about their die-hard love of the San Diego Chargers. By the end of their first session, we were discussing getting together for football games and BBQ’s. Suffice it to say that when Eric and Samantha asked us about photographing their wedding this September in Lake Tahoe, we were thrilled and honored! Last month we went out to McKinley park with them for their engagement session, and true to form, these two are always a blast! We’ve never seen a couple so much in love, so excited about their wedding, and just thrilled about life in general. We are excited beyond belief to photograph their wedding at Lake Tahoe this Sunday, which also happens to be the season opener for the Chargers. Now you know how much James thinks of this couple, because I can’t imagine that he would work on that day for anyone but these two! Congrats to Eric and Sam, and GO CHARGERS!

We took this at the end the evening, after having dinner together. We couldn’t resist this shot, as Eric and Samantha actually met at the gym!

More from this fabulously elegant wedding…check the first post here.

Lindsey & Davide, thank you again for having us share this day, and to be part of this beautiful event. We smile every time we see these. Hope you all enjoy them as much as we did. Best of wishes from across the ocean!

For those that missed the first post, Lindsey and Davide live in Italy, and made this occasion very special and intimate. The reception almost felt like we were in another country!

First dance…they couldn’t keep their hands off each other.

Signing the marriage certificate on the hearth of the huge fireplace…cool.

And the rings…anyone guess where these were?

What do a pool, a trampoline, a bunch of Italians, cake and some wrestling masks have in common?

An Awsome wedding! As many of you know, Stef and I are photographing a select number of weddings now and what a wonderful one this was. We couldn’t have asked for a more laid back and friendly group of people. Lindsey and Davide were an absolute pleasure to watch enjoying their day and we felt privileged to be a part of it.

Davide is from Sicily, (where they met) and brought many friends and family members across the Atlantic to witness this beautiful day. My Italian is..eh, a-not so good-a, but everyone understood fun!

Thank you to both families for letting us capture these moments and for making us feel so welcome throughout the day (and night!)

More coming soon…
