Adorable S is one of our Bebe Collection members. Between his amazing blue eyes, crazy-cool hair, and sweet disposition, how could we come up with anything short of amazing with this guy?

Photographing the Jewart family was fun for us for many reasons, but mostly because they’re good friends of ours from Stockton. Tissa & I (Stef) were college roommates at UC Davis and have remained good friends ever since. The birth of baby G was what prompted them to have these portraits made, but we couldn’t resist getting the whole gang involved. I think our favorite image from the session was their “family feet,” which they had made in a 20×40 gallery wrapped canvas to hang over their bed. We were lucky to get to see their portraits hang in their home, as we went for a visit on Labor Day weekend. I was tempted to swipe that one for our gallery I loved it so much! Thanks for such an awesome time and the great visit…the girls had a blast!

We found a note in our door the other morning with some kind words of thanks that were so moving, it was a challenge for Stef and I to get through it dry eyed. I share a part – because it so well describes us and how we feel, and why we have chosen this journey.

“Photography reveals that regardless of circumstance, life offers moments – if only milliseconds – of beauty that are to be captured, cherished and remembered.”

Thank you for that.

On Sunday (opening day for the Chargers!) we were honored to be photographing Samantha & Eric’s wedding at Edgewood South Lake Tahoe, referred to by them and their wedding party as “The London Experience” (their last name). We were so excited to share in this event, as these are two of the most head-over-heels-in-love people we’ve ever met. Our expectations were great, and they were fulfilled! Combine the gorgeous weather, the most stunning bride, an elated groom and the majestic backdrop of Lake Tahoe, and you have a perfect day. Sam & Eric, thank you for allowing us to be a part of the most amazing day! Can’t wait for Monday Night Football….go Bolts!

This little cherub is Miss A. She is another great example of the amazing hair we’ve seen on babies lately! Must be something in the water…..:-). We met Brigitte thanks to our friends at the Silver Spoon children’s boutique, but then when she and Chris were here with Miss A, we all discovered that they’re good friends with some other clients of ours, too. Such a small world around here! A was so much fun, because she was still small enough to snuggle like a newborn but old enough to give us some sweet smiles. She impressed us all with how well she held up her head up. Stay tuned for more, as Miss A is another one of our Bebe Collection members who will be back for her 6 month session before we know it!

Miss T began her preschool adventures last Tuesday and was an immediate fan. Within seconds she was painting, coloring and playing with puzzles. Once again, I might have well been invisible.

“Teagan, mom and I are leaving!”

“Teagan?”

And that’s pretty much how it went.

p.s. These photographs were last ones taken of her before the scissors incident.

When the Bueno family came to us, I immediately knew that I had crossed paths with mom, Christina, somewhere; then, when I met her oldest dauther, B, it occurred to me–our daughter Reilly and their daughter B had been in a ballet class together 2 years ago! I went back and looked at the photos from their recital and we even have an image with their daughter smiling away on stage next to Reilly! That was just the beginning of our connecting with the Buenos; we could have talked all day with them about their travels and our mutual affinity for good wine. Coupled with their adorable girls, it was a fantastic session all around. The girls had so much fun with ours after the session that B was asking to set up a play date as they were leaving…so cute!

Ok guys, here are some tips on what to do when your wife discovers long hair (clearly not yours) all over your shirt.

1. Act perplexed, but not surprised.

2. Say “I don’t know”…a lot

3. Suddenly get upset, and say “Honey, are you cleaning your brushes out in the bedroom again?”

4. Grab your nearest daughter, check for a match, then…

5. Make sure you were not the one who issued her a pair of scissors.

Miss T and I had been snuggling that morning which explains the shirt. A quick search revealed this under the kitchen table.

Teagan, Teagan, Teagan…
