You might remember Miss O from our Cutest Kid contest back in January…she rose to the occasion and gave us some really fun stuff! A little background about O….her mom and I (Stef) go all the way back to junior high. It’s scary to me that we’re actually old enough to have kids this old!! It’s hard for me to believe that my own daughter is at the age I was when I met some of my friends that I still know today, in my thirties (no need to get more specific than that! :-). Anyway, Miss O was a ball of fun energy and we can’t wait to photograph her big sis next!

Adorable Miss A was here for her 2nd Bebe session a while back, and and usual, these are some of my favorite sessions we do! I just love the 6-8 month age for portraits, because the babies are proud as peacocks that they can sit up, and think pretty much everything is funny. A was teething at this session, which I believe is responsible for the super cute things she did with her hands by her mouth and ear…can’t wait to see her next time with teeth! 🙂

If you follow our blog, then you’ll recall our National Charity Model Search Cutest Kid contest in which we participated starting in January. We posted each entrant’s image and the link to the online voting galleries. The voting is open until the beginning of April, but our top two vote-getters to date were invited to model at the Sacramento leg of well-known portrait photographer Sandy Puc’ national speaking tour, “Tots to Teens.” Sandy Puc’ is the genius behind the Charity Model Search, so that’s how it got tied in with her speaking tour. Anyhow, in each of the 50 cities she’s visiting, she invites the top two cutest kid contestants from the city, and we were thrilled to have our adorable clients as the city winners! Four-year old Savannah and three-year old Sophia were unbelievable at the show! Sandy used them as models to demonstrate a live portrait session, and these tiny tots could have passed for pro’s! I was beaming with pride, as were their families, and Savannah and Sophia took directions perfectly and made us so proud. Did I mention that they did this on a huge stage in front of several hundred photographers? James snapped a few images to show the magnitude of what these girls did. Thanks to both Savannah and Sophia and their families for representing us so well….we always say we have the best clients…and it’s been proven true once again! Way to go girls!

Mr. J. is anohter one of our exceptionally gorgeous Bebe members. We met little J thanks to our neighbor, Darci; J is her beloved nephew who traveled all the way from the Bay Area to see us (along with mom, Ashley)! J was only 4 weeks old at his session and had the looks of a much older lad. These two were our absolute fav’s, and grandma even hung her very own gallery-wrapped canvas of the first image over her mantle…now that’s love! Can’t wait to see baby J back for his next session…and the rest of the family, of course!

Here are some photos of Reilly and Miss T doing some modeling for our friends at the Silver Spoon. They did great, goose bumps and all (it was really cold). Not only that, Stef stayed home so they also had to be lighting assistants! Thank you models, your checks are in the mail.

This is Miss A, who has been featured on our blog before (this was her 3rd session with us and she’s not even 1 yet!). They decided to capture her 1st year with 4 sessions instead of our normal 3, so we get to see this fun family a lot, which is fine by me! 🙂 This was A’s 9-month session, right before Christmas (yep, we’re still catching up on blog posts from that long ago…I think we might make it into January’s sessions soon!). The really sad thing is that they’re already coming next month for her 1-year portraits, and it seems like yesterday that she was here for the very first time. I know I’ve said it before, but I love the time we get to spend getting to know families over a baby’s first year, and I always get so sad when the year is almost over! I know we’ll see them again, but just not quite as often. That’s why I’m always so excited when one of our families has another baby…another year we get to spend together! 🙂 Hint, hint….

Boy did we ever see a lot of bumps today, and I don’t mean speed-bumps! We participated in the 1st ever Babies and Bumps event in Roseville today, and I have never seen so many preggos in one place at one time! In all fairness, there were a ton of families with babies, too, and it was so incredible to see such an awesome turnout. Just another reason why I love living in Roseville–people love their babies and bumps around here! This was the first expo booth we’ve ever done, and we’re pretty excited with how our vision turned into reality (thanks in part to getting up at 5am…and the rental truck it took to haul everything!). We met so many great people and were thrilled to see familiar faces, too. Thanks to all of you who came out to say hi, and a special thanks to the devoted sister who came out to represent her sister, who is one of our awesome clients from the Bay Area—you know who you are—you guys are the best! 🙂 You’ll notice that Reilly and Teagan even got to participate in this one…they both modeled adorable outfits from the Silver Spoon in the fashion show. Super fun day, and the face painting made our girls’ weekend!

This Saturday, March 14 we’re participating in the 1st-ever Babies and Bumps event at Maidu Community Center in Roseville. The event is geared toward moms and moms-to-be (and dads, too!) and will have all kinds of fun things to see and do, including a bunch of giveaways and drawings. We would love for all of you to come check out our booth (near the Whole Foods booth) and say hi! We’ll be giving away goodies all day (the event runs from 9am-3pm), but the lucky first 100 visitors will get an extra-special treat. We’re also holding a drawing for a free portrait session AND a $100 portrait credit. Hope to see you there! Click HERE for all the event details!
We met the Conklin’s late last fall (as if the leaves don’t give it away!), thanks to the Bollinger family (their neighbors). I will admit that I was nervous before we met them about how the family stuff would go, given the very young ages of their kiddos. Well, I was happily proven wrong once again! We were literally in shock at how amazing these little ones did. Another fun outcome from this session pertains specifically to the image of little Miss O holding the leaf–James entered it into local print competition and received a merit score (that’s a good thing, for you non-photogs!). Loved, loved, loved this session and the family!

More from our San Diego trip. It was wonderful having all the immediate family there (first time in many years!) Funny, now that we don’t live there, we do much more “touristy” things when we go back. Trips to the beach, Santee lakes, and of course Hooley’s are now staples in our visits. Thanks mom & dad for the fun & food. And thanks Bekah & Mike for the introduction (and now addiction) to rock band. “Run to the hills!!!…”
Here are a few faves from the trip.
