Meet Sara from Bella Vista. Sara brought some energy and attitude to her senior session that kept me going. We made her session in our very own Enchanted neighborhood and did everything from jumping, dancing, lounging, and um…tying some shoes. Great job on your outfits Sara, love them shoes!

It’s taken me the better part of 7 years to convince Stef the yumminess of sushi. Never high on her list, on the rare occasion she would suggest it for dinner, it meant it was either my birthday or a preparation for a household project.

Enter Mikuni and the now ubiquitous soy wrap. Someone suggested that to her in place of the standard seaweed wrap. The chef brought the first roll out and just like the old Life cereal commercials…SHE LIKES IT!!!

Now it’s tough for me to keep her out of the place.

I am not disappointed…

Sacramento senior pictures! Meet the wonderfully charming Chelsea. We had such a great time on her session, it went a little well…longer than expected. She also had some specific looks in mind (which we LOVE to hear about), and really was able to nail all of them. So full of life and excitement, it was just a pleasure to be around her. Thanks Chelsea for your input and energy, your portraits showed it!

Yep, it’s that time of year again! We are SO excited for this year’s Costumes & Cans event, which again will be held at the fabulous Silver Spoon Children’s Boutique (they moved, so make sure to go to their new location!). We had an amazing turnout last year and collected over 400 cans of food. We hope that this year will be even better, so be sure to invite all of your friends and family with little ghouls and goblins. This event is on a walk-in basis, and the first 2 hours are always the busiest, so if your kiddos are older and don’t nap, you might consider coming a little later if possible (just a suggestion based on last year!). New for this year is a costume contest, and the winner will receive prizes from Enchanted Images and the Silver Spoon!

This was the adorable Miss G’s third Bebe session with us, shortly after she turned one. This was a huge milestone session for her, as they always are, but especially so since she was getting ready to undergo open heart surgery shortly after this session. I’m so happy to report that everything went well and she’s doing great, a couple months later. G is just the sweetest little girl; I don’t think I have EVER heard her cry!

Just got back into town (San Diego) from our cruise to Cabo. Stef and I got to enjoy 5 nights out on the rolling (and rolling) ocean and a couple of relaxing days on the beach. It was a great time and we made some new friends. One of the days I decided to lug out the camera gear and lights to see what trouble I could get into. One of the dancers on the boat cabaret show was gracious enough to model and I got a few great shots before the rain and surf knocked us out. Here are a few of them. Thanks Rachael!

Meet Kaitlyn. With a full schedule and ASB responsibilities, she is a busy girl this year. I was very happy she took some time to meet with us to discuss her senior portraits. Kaitlyn said she wanted to be photgraphed in a location “doing something”, so off to K street we went. There was lots of “Hey, jump up on that” or “Get behind that” and she was game for all of it.

A fun day and even more fun images. Thanks Kaitlyn for the experience. Have a great year!

p.s. don’t ever try to stand someone in front of a moving light rail car just for a great image. Their horns are really loud…

Meet the Brown family…Noel and I met when our oldest girls were just babies and she and I were in MOPS together. We immediately hit it off and started our friendship with a bang, and of course then pulled our hubbys into the mix. We credit the Brown’s with much encouragement and inspiration when we were first starting our business, six years ago. Noel was our biggest fan and cheerleader, and we wouldn’t be where we are without them! You might recall a somewhat “famous” image that we’ve showcased for a LONG time….naked buns-baby standing in between mom’s legs holding her hands…well, that just happens to be Noel and her oldest daughter. Fast forward almost six years, and we ended up on the beach in La Jolla with the Browns and their brood, which has now grown to three beautiful daughters. It just so happened that our July vacation to San Diego overlapped with theirs, so Noel thought it would be the perfect chance to get those beach portraits she always wanted. We found an ideal little spot at Shell Beach in La Jolla (ideal if you don’t count all the people who were there that busy Sunday, including another photographer trying to politely share the small space with us!). We had the best time out there with them and just loved the images that resulted. So did they…so much in fact that they have begun an entire room re-decoration, including new paint and a flat-screen tv for Dan, all inspired by the new artwork they’ll be hanging on their walls!

We first met the Hattendorf’s when they brought big sis, Miss S, to our Mommy & Me Portraits for the Cure event in May. Mom then met with us shortly before her due date to discuss her vision for newborn portraits of baby girl #2, which brings us to these lovely images. Meet Miss A, who came to visit us when she was only a week old (mom called from the hospital to schedule her session, shortly after having a c-section!). We were glad that they brought A so soon, because as you can see, she barely looked newborn even at a week old (she weighed in at 8 lbs. 13 oz. at birth!). These images were especially sweet for everyone involved, as the pregnancy was rocky to say the least. As mom kept telling us, though, was it was worth every minute, because look at what she got at the end…..look indeed, at this beautiful miracle!
