You may remember Barbara from this post with her grandson. This time she came with her daughter and granddaughter, and wow, what a beautiful group they were. Miss H really got into it and gave us quite the show. She was all about looking ‘just right’ in the studio, and once we got her with grandma, things turned into a hugfest. A really, really nice time. Thanks!

We met the Gladden family at Adventure Christian School where Reilly went to pre-school for 2 years and where Teagan is just getting ready to start. The oldest Gladden son and Reilly were in the same 4-year old class together the year before last. Well, we donated a portrait session and wall portrait to the Adventure Christian School annual fundraiser/silent auction and the Gladden’s were the high bidders! Another small world story….right before they came for their session, their friends/neighbors, the Andersen’s, had come for a family portrait session not knowing that each had appointments with us. Too funny! We loved working with the Gladden’s and poor Miss C was not on her game according to mom and dad (although you wouldn’t know it looking at these images!); come to find out, she had a fever when they got home that evening. Poor thing was such a trooper even though she wasn’t feeling great! Thanks for hanging in there with us!

The Posey family has been coming to us since big sis, W, was just a baby. Well, she’s all “grown up” now at the ripe old age of 3 1/2 and showed little brother the ropes. W is and always has been a bit reserved and pensive–much harder to get a smile out of than her brother, T. T on the other hand, wouldn’t stop smiling! He just cracked us up the entire time they were with us; it didn’t matter where we were or what the situation, T was flashing his big grin. Okay, for a slight moment he cried, but that was only after he tumbled off the steps and crashed on his nose! Then it was back to all smiles. I have to give kudos to Tracy for doing such a great job coordinating the family’s clothing; it’s not easy putting together different colors and patterns that don’t all match but still look great together, but she did awesome!

The Bennion family came to us primarily for baby N’s newborn portraits, but a nice bi-product was the other great images we captured of the rest of the family! Big brother A, although not completely thrilled about the whole thing, did great nonetheless and gave us some priceless expressions. We’re excited to get to see this loving family 2 more times over the next year, as baby N is a recent Bebe Collection member. We found out just after the family picked up their portraits that they all of the sudden are even more important, as they received news that dad, Keith, will be going to Iraq next spring.

What happens when you lock your keys in the car on a location session?

You call Triple A and keep making photgraphs of course!

This gorgeous family came to us for a beautiful location session in El Dorado Hills and arrived ready to have some fun. Stef and I had so much fun we I decided to lock the keys in the car and stay a while. Thankfully, Jeff had a phone on him AND it had service (hard to get in this area).

Well it all worked out. The delay caused the sun to drop a bit more and we got some of our favorite photographs of the day. Thanks Jeff & Samantha for putting up with our silliness on this adventure!

The Newman family, like so many, had not had a family portrait made in many years. Mom, L, called and wanted to have this important time documented, as her son T was getting ready to head off to the Naval Academy in Maryland after graduating from Woodcreek High this year. It’s always so entertaining when we get a group like this that mom clearly dragged here to be photographed. Now don’t be mislead, no one actually said that they weren’t thrilled about being photographed (okay, maybe dad, M, did!). That being said, we had a great time getting to know the Newman’s and the best compliment I’ve heard in a while came second hand from L when she came to pick up her portraits; she told me that M actually said he had fun and was wondering when they were going to do it again! Now that was pretty amazing considering I thought he might need an IV containing something other than clear fluids when they left after completing their order!
