We are back!  Sorry we’ve been offline for a bit, updating some behind the scenes stuff on the blog.  So happy to be back here sharing the wonderful people we are privileged to work with.  The Cameto family holds a soft spot in our hearts, as we have been through the journey of two maternity sessions, their first baby’s first year and beyond, and now baby sister’s first year is underway.  Since we did their first maternity session in the studio, we all decided to go for something different and venture outside.  It was gorgeous and as always, the wardrobe was perfect! (way to go Sarah!)  This session also doubled as young G’s three-year portraits.  As all sessions seem to be with this family, it was simply magical.  Fast forward a short bit and we were thrilled to meet the newest Cameto, Miss G!  Her newborn session was not too long before Christmas, so it was only appropriate that a few “seasonal” shots were captured, which worked perfectly for their birth announcement/holiday card.  It’s hard to believe that very soon we’ll be seeing baby G for her next Bebe session–can’t wait, as I’m sure it will be fantastic!  Meet the lovely Cameto family–again:

Happy New Year!  We hope this finds you filled with plenty of good cheer, good company, and good food after the holidays.  We were fortunate to have all of these things this year (maybe a little too much of the good food…) and look forward to what 2012 has in store. We’re hoping it brings more wonderful people into our lives like the Booth’s, featured here.  We’ve combined the Booth maternity and newborn session here, which is fun to see the progression all at one time.  Mama K was fun and ready for anything, and J, like any good new father-to-be, was willing to do whatever his beautiful bride wanted. :-)  Their openness made for beautiful images for sure.  Enter Baby B a bit later–what an absolute angel boy!  He was super alert and content for such a new baby–we were fortunate to really see his big alert eyes; at this age most babies are either sleeping or crying…:-)  J & K were beaming new parents, as well they should be, and we especially loved the image with Baby B nestled in on mom’s chest.  Pure, sweet, priceless…

Can’t wait to see them again soon for B’s next session–we can only imagine how fun he’s going to be this time around!  Meet the Booth family:

It’s that time of year again!  We’re excited to announce our 3rd annual Mommy & Me Portraits for the Cure event, where we raise money to support breast cancer research.  This year we’re keeping it local and donating the proceeds to the Placer Breast Cancer Endowment.  As usual, the event will be held at The Silver Spoon children’s boutique.  No appointments are needed, so just come in while we’re there!  The portraits will be made like those you see here, so dark colors will photograph the best.  We want to say a special “thank you” to the three lovely women and their kids who are featured here and have each been affected by breast cancer in different ways.  You are all strong, courageous, and deserve to be celebrated!

Since it’s cold and dreary outside, we thought you all might enjoy a flashback to summer and warmer times.  At the end of summer we joined one of our favorite families in Lake Tahoe for a departure from our typical studio maternity sessions.  We first met the Ferrell’s for Heidi’s last maternity session with baby #3, who is now a darling 2 year old boy.  Fast forward a couple of years and they were back to document baby #4 (2nd girl) before she arrived in September.  We were thrilled at the prospect of a beach maternity session on the shores of beautiful Lake Tahoe.  The best part is that they trekked down hills and across boulders to get to a spot not completely packed with summer vacationers.  The kids thought this was quite an adventure, of course!  We had a wonderful time with them, as we always do, and the things that stand out in my mind the most about this session were Heidi’s willingness to try new things, and their ability as a couple to still connect and focus on each other as if this were their first baby, all while their other 3 children were on the verge of falling off rocks or jumping into the lake.  Meet the fabulous Ferrell’s (again)!

We were thrilled to get to work with the Fore family this summer on 2 separate occasions–for their maternity session and then baby K’s newborn session, which ended up being closer together since he decided to make his entrance over 3 weeks early!  Since the sessions were so close together we decided to do a fun post with images from both.  The maternity session was a blast and we just loved working with them, and we’re always thrilled when there are awesome tattoos to show! :-)  Fast forward to sweet baby K…he was seriously one of the cutest newborns ever!  I could have just stared at him all day, especially since he didn’t make a peep during his session (another bonus of getting them when they’re brand-new).  We’re looking forward to seeing the Fore family back for their 2 other Bebe sessions over K’s first year….stay tuned!

We’ve been photographing the Morris family since big sis was just 6 weeks old.  We’ve even had the pleasure of meeting and photographing Heather’s entire immediate family who gathered here from across the country.  Heather, Matt & their kids have always had a special place in our hearts, so when we heard the news that Heather was expecting their 3 rd child (1st biological), we were overjoyed!  It truly was a miracle!  Suffice it to say, this maternity session had extra special significance for everyone involved.  Their baby boy has since entered the world and we look forward to meeting the newest Morris very soon.  Meet the Morris family:

We knew from the first consultation that this was going to be a fun maternity session.  S mentioned that she really wanted to go outside and by the railroad tracks with the bridge, so our minds immediately switched gears from a “traditional” maternity session.  S & J had some of their wedding photographs taken by this very same stretch of tracks near our studio and thought it would be fun to go out there again and document this next exciting stage in their lives.  We still did some studio work with them, and that was a blast, too.  You can see below that we turned the “fashion fan” on her to help bring out her inner diva. Our favorites from the day, though, were definitely the last few images we got by the tracks.  I just love the connection you can see between them, anticipating the arrival of their baby boy.  A few short weeks later they welcomed their son.  Meet the Bierer’s…_MG_7475flatcrop copy_2 _MG_7496flatcrop copy IMG_4030flatcrop copy_2 _MG_7457flatcro copy

Photographing the Zander’s as they awaited the arrival of their first baby was especially fun for us because he happens to be our dentist. They made the decision to have these portraits made fairly last minute–their sweet baby girl arrived barely a week after these were taken! Heather was amazing to photograph and looked unbelievably awesome for how far along she was. Can’t wait to share the adorable images of sweet baby Bella…stay tuned!

When I first talked on the phone with Melissa about her maternity portraits, I knew we were in for something fun when she mentioned the idea of bringing her firefighter husband’s turnouts to wear for some of her photographs. Well, even my greatest expectations were exceeded when we actually met the Beard’s and found out how fun (and gorgeous!) they are! They were both up for anything and were awesome in front of the camera. They even brought their 1st baby (a beautiful black lab) for some outdoor family shots. Can’t wait to meet their baby boy in a few weeks!

This Saturday, March 14 we’re participating in the 1st-ever Babies and Bumps event at Maidu Community Center in Roseville. The event is geared toward moms and moms-to-be (and dads, too!) and will have all kinds of fun things to see and do, including a bunch of giveaways and drawings. We would love for all of you to come check out our booth (near the Whole Foods booth) and say hi! We’ll be giving away goodies all day (the event runs from 9am-3pm), but the lucky first 100 visitors will get an extra-special treat. We’re also holding a drawing for a free portrait session AND a $100 portrait credit. Hope to see you there! Click HERE for all the event details!
