Gladys called from a contact at our friends at the Silver Spoon and was very excited about having portraits made. So were we! And just look at these kids, they were really into it. What a gorgeous family! Thanks again for the cookies Gladys, we enjoyed them.

As you can see from the photographs, we met the Woods family before the leaves were gone from the trees! We’re still trying to catch up on blog posts from the many amazing sessions we had before the holidays. Jessica contacted us because the great people at Starlight Starbright in Folsom were nice enough to tell her about us. We were thrilled because in addition to having super cute kids, they’re just great people! Even though baby brother was the main reason for the session, I’m afraid big sis stole the show. She has the most amazing eyes and was so good about letting us change hats, outfits, etc. (mom brought a great selection!). She’ll have to explain to her baby brother someday exactly how she ended up being the star at his newborn session….:-)

It’s always bittersweet when one of our Bebe Collection kiddos graduates from his first year of sessions! Little Mr. McVey is no exception; we started photographing him when he was still in mom’s tummy (maternity portraits) and have been entertained by his sweet disposition ever since. We are especially grateful to the McVey’s for traveling here from Livermore for each session and appointment. The most exciting thing about C’s graduation? He’s going to have a baby brother in a few months, so hopefully this won’t be the end! 🙂

SPA time! SPA (Senior Portrait Artists) is an organization dedicated to the art of high school senior photography. For the last several years, they have held seminars/workshops in various locations. This year we are at the Red Rock Hotel in Las Vegas and what a cool place this is! Great people, great fun, and such a valuable experience.

Here are a few images I made with some of the yummy looking models SPA brought along. By the way, these models were chosen from a nationwide contest held by SPA that we will be a part of this year. We will provide more details later, but if any of you class of 2010 girls and guys think you have what it takes to be a top model, stay tuned! We will be provide the details of the contest soon.

New years day we were invited to a swineriffic party at my sister and brother-in-law’s house which included a good old fashioned deep pit pig BBQ.

WARNING!!! Vegetarians and members of PETA please skip to the next blog post.

Chris (brother in law) was really excited about this event… REALLY excited. He and my brother spent the better part of a week digging the pit and preparing for this. I called him New Years eve to see how things were going and the conversation went something like this.

“Hey Chris, how’s things going?”

“GREAT, what are you guys doing tonight?”

“Oh you know, dinner in La Jolla and maybe a club.”

“Well, what are you guys doing after? You should totally come over! We’re going to sit up all night and watch the pig roast. I’ts going to be awesome!!!”

Now, I just love Chris. But I didn’t have the heart to tell him watching a dead animal smolder on a hot bed of coal wasn’t exactly what I imagined Stef and I would be doing to reign in the new year.

So I gave the old college response…”maybe we’ll stop by…”

Well, we didn’t make it by that night, but we did show up the next day and what a great party it was. Wilbur came off the coals about 2pm and the feast was on. I think Reilly ate more than any of us!

Thanks to all who put that together, we had a wonderful time.

Uncle Mike chasing Reilly with the snout.

I don’t know what this meant but every time I lifted the camera, Mike and Chris did this.

We hit the road day after Christmas to visit the family in San Diego and what better way to spend a winter day than at Coronado beach. The plan was dinner at the Brig and a visit to the Hotel Del. Well…the minute the girls saw sand, they were gone.

I mean gone.

After about a minute, Stef said “I don’t thing they are coming back”. So off I went. Fortunately with camera in hand…

By the way, we made the dinner reservation…complete with sand tracks all the way to the table.

Meeting baby R and his family was such a treat, as we got to photograph not only he and his parents, but all of his siblings as well (there were a total of 4 kids between both Lori and Patrick). While he was still technically a “newborn,” his delicious baby rolls said otherwise! It was so neat to see his older sisters (one is 5 and the other two are young adults) dote on their baby brother; he definitely doesn’t lack in the love and affection department!

You might remember baby L from his 1st Bebe session; he had the most amazing hair ever! He’s such a sweet boy but wasn’t particularly thrilled about having his portraits taken this time around (he was woken up from a nap to come, in his defense!). We just loved the cool hat that mom brought for him, and even though he wasn’t dishing the smiles this time, we still thought his portraits were pretty darn awesome! Can’t wait to see him next time around when he’s running!

Well after enough “Dad can I play with your iphone?” comments, Santa decided to make us a 3G family this Christmas…

Stef’s mom was nice enough to bestow a pair of ipod touch’s to the girls saving Stef and I some unnecessary headaches with our iphones. Bravo. Our family of nerdness is now complete…

Now if I want a weather forecast I simply have to turn to the backseat and ask Reilly.

Our home hasn’t heard such silence in a while, and I’ve never seen the girls so eager to be sequestered to a remote corner with no desire to be bothered.

Apple rules…
