The Martinelli family is yet another one of the many extended families we’ve photographed recently. It’s so nice to see families take the time and effort to have these multi-generational, very meaningful portraits made. It’s fun to see the relationships in families and be reminded of the importance of what we do…capturing images that speak volumes about the people in them. We love what we do!

We had a fun time photographing the Weinreich/Marvin extended family, who were totally trusting in our ideas for their images, even though they had no clue what the final portraits would look like when we were dragging them down to the Amtrak station in old Roseville! It’s a little trickier to get artistic & creative with larger groups, but James got the idea that it would be so cool to spread them out on the front of the train station building. Apparently they did, too, because that was their favorite image. Thanks for being such good sports!

Last weekend we were fortunate to participate in an evening of fine arts and elegant desserts at Sunrise Community Church in Fair Oaks. Two of our friends and clients were kind enough to ask us to be their featured artist at this event meant to honor and appreciate the faithful members of Sunrise. The sanctuary was transformed into a beautiful room filled with candles, flowers and music. Pastor Rich Sherman and the Sunrise staff were gracious enough to allow us to fill their walls with a display of multiple wall portraits. Over 500 people attended this event showing their commitment to this close-knit church family. We were honored to be a part of it! Click anywhere on the third image to see a slideshow of the event. It seems lately we’ve had a run of photographing beautiful sisters, and the Fastiggi girls were no exception! I’m sure having their portraits made wasn’t high on the priority list for these teenage girls, but mom & dad felt it was time, as they haven’t been professionally photographed together in ages. They were such great sports and brought the best clothes! Dad absolutely loved the last image here and swore it looked like an album cover…and it looked amazing as the 20×30 metallic fine art print they ordered. We’re so lucky we get to photograph such gorgeous AND truly nice people!

The Tignino sisters came on a cold January day and were such good sports outside, even though we were all freezing! Their mom & dad told us they really just wanted to capture the personalities of their daughters at this point in time. Based on their reaction when they saw their images, I think they got exactly what they were looking for. It’s so interesting to photograph siblings at these ages when their personalities really do show through; the differences are so apparent, even if they don’t say much during the session. Middle sis here was the perfect example; she said very little, if anything, during the session, but we could tell by her actions and “quiet attitude” that she really was into being photographed–and the images say it all! Such great girls…mom & dad have every reason to be proud.

Okay, so we didn’t actually take these photographs in February…it was November when we photographed the Sheridan family. You may remember the Sheridan’s from our newsletter a few issues back; they were our featured client of the month. We’ve been fortunate to see them several times in the past year and a half, as Miss A is a member of our Bebe Diplome (baby graduate) program. We loved the image of them walking away down the street so much we now have a 30 in. x 60 in. gallery wrapped canvas of it hanging in our studio (they got a similar image of them walking toward the camera in a 25×50 gallery wrap–looked awesome!).

For those of you who didn’t receive the newsletter (or, gasp! just didn’t read it!), a quick re-cap of our “six degrees” connection to the Sheridan’s: Alex and James are from the same teeny-tiny town east of San Diego, and even know some of the same people. They are also both huge San Diego Charger fans (big surprise!). What more could we ask for in a client? 🙂

Pamela Huggins, we hope you’re in the mood for some sushi, because you’re the grand prize winner of our home gallery contest!!! Thanks to all of the amazing entries we received; this was a very difficult decision and we were overwhelmed by what we saw…how humbling to see our work so tastefully and thoughtfully displayed in your homes. While choosing the winner wasn’t easy, we finally agreed on this entry for the overall design of the wall. We just loved how Pamela ingtegraed her own touches within and around the wall collection. We couldn’t think of a better description of her amazing kids than the plaque situated in the middle of her portraits simply reading “Blessed.” Way to go Pamela and watch out for that $50 Mikuni giftcard in your mailbox! Thanks again to all of those who particpated!

Mmmmm…..
