This super cool family came ready for a good time. N looked decidedly rock n roll complete with hair and t-shirt, and H & (other)N were full of feisty fun. Josh & Jen got comfy with the kids on our sofa, then we moved outside to see what we could find. Aren’t they good looking peeps?

The Anderson’s are one of those families who we immediately connected with; their daughter reminded us so much of Teagan, and their son is Reilly’s age and his personality is a lot like hers. Mom & Dad were so much fun we were practically planning to get together for a bbq by the time they left! On top of all of this fun stuff, man were they photogenic!! A very sweet idea mom had was to bring her wedding gown and let miss K dress up in it at the end of the session. If you want to see a 2-year old become very excited about having her portrait taken, that’s what to do! I could go on and on about how much fun we had with the Anderson’s; yet another one of the awesome families that make us two of the luckiest people on earth. Thanks for the great time and the great images!

Congratulations to another graduate from our Bebe Collection! We first met Sir F’s family quite some time before he was around…we’ve had the pleasure of working with big brothers J & J and their terrific parents for several years now. This guy has been so easy and fun to photograph, and his 1-year session was no different. They brought grandma along this time to capture some sweet moments with her…such a great idea. Chris and Lisa are some of the nicest, most genuine people we’ve met, and we so appreciate them entrusting their sweet boys to us (for portraits, that is…we don’t babysit! We’ve got enough with our own maniacs around here! :-). You can see a portrait of all 3 boys together on our Raves page when F was just a newborn…

Our country lost a great voice this fathers day weekend.

I saw this clip Saturday morning and what struck me most was that all who were interviewed, though they respected his professional career and what a great journalist Tim was, commented more on Tim Russert the man and who he was; what he was passionate about…his faith, his family, his life.

I post this today because there was no other journalist that was equally proud of being a father as he was his professional career. He was a great example and reminder for all of us who are fathers.

Well, I am proud to be a father, for the joys, the opportunities, and responsibilities it brings.

I am proud of my father, and everything he has made me to be.

Thanks dad, happy fathers day.

Our friends at the Silver Spoon are now hosting baby showers out on the pond behind the store. We were asked to take some photos showing their setup which was beautifully done by Celebrations! and Simple Pleasures Restaurant & Catering. I had a tough time keeping my hands off the food, it was delicious! Here are a few of our favorites, doesn’t it look yummy? Wonderful job everyone!

The McGuckin family has been with us for so long…their oldest daughter, G, was one of the 1st newborns we photographed! While they have been some of our best clients over the years, bringing both of their extended families to be photographed as well, they have also become friends–the best bi-product of this amazing job we have! We thought it was so sweet that they wanted to capture their darling daughters in the essence of their age right now–in princess dresses! Now, these were 2 of the prettiest dress-up dresses I’ve seen; they really looked like royalty in them! Thanks to Scott & Janelle for your amazing support over the years and entrusting us to document these precious times. We are forever grateful!

I spent a lot of time with my grandparents(mom’s side) growing up, and those times have some of my fondest memories. It wasn’t until I was much older that I realized not all grandparents were as cool as mine. What, you mean yours don’t spend a Saturday with you watching the NFL draft?

So when Stef got a call from Barbara here to make some “cool” portraits of her and her grandson, I was thrilled. We had a great time and got to hear plenty of stories from their past. I couldn’t help but be reminded of my relationship with my grandparents and all the great times we had (if only they lived a little closer!)

Thanks Barbara and Jason for sharing some of yourselves with us, we really enjoyed it.

You may have seen a few images of these good looking kids from our Little Angel promotion. Thanks J & A for being our ‘models’ for the afternoon.

Here are a few more from that session.

Keep an eye out for more from the ‘Angels’ sessions (currently in progress!) coming soon…

Once in a while we get requests to photograph extended families, but it seems like lately we’ve been seeing more of them than ever. These portraits seem to be increasingly difficult for people to execute, with families living in all parts of the state or country and having busy lives. That being said, we’re thrilled to see families making the effort and realizing the importance of documenting their familial relationships with portraiture. The Okland family wins the award for most miles traveled; they came from N. Carolina, Indiana, Nevada, and California. They were such a fun and loving group to work with, and all the little ones were surprisingly cooperative! Thanks to Heather for bringing all her family to us!
