Earlier this fall we had the pleasure of photographing the Luong family on their “weekend property.”  They have 5 beautiful acres that currently just has a cottage on it, as well as a pond with fish and some beautiful scenery.  The plan is to build their dream home for the family on the property, but for now they go there to just get away and enjoy country life with their 3 kids.  It was great to capture the obvious excitement this family has about their new oasis, and we can’t wait to see it when it becomes their full-time home! _MG_7455 copy

Santa Claus came to town!  Last Sunday we held our first annual Toys 4 Tots Santa portrait event at the Silver Spoon children’s boutique, and it was wonderful all around.  Santa came to hear the Christmas wishes of close to 200 kids, all while we captured those wonder-filled (and sometimes tear-filled) moments.  It was great to see how many people came out to see Santa and donate toys for less fortunate kids….a great reminder of the kindness in our community.  These were two of our favorite images of the day…okay, so we’re a little biased…it’s our girls!  Grandma brought them at the end of the day so daddy could have the rare honor of capturing the true innocence of their childhood.  A huge thank you to the Silver Spoon and everyone who came out in the cold to support our local Toys 4 Tots!_MG_7950

When we received the call from M explaining that she wanted portraits of her and her daughter as a surprise for her husband’s birthday, we were so excited to be in on such a fun gift!  We knew we were in for a treat when they showed up for their session and Miss S had just come from getting her hair done and a shopping trip for snazzy new duds for their session.  Even though the purpose initially began as mother/daughter portraits, it quickly became clear that this session was really about S, as you can see!  Dad loved his birthday surprise and we loved being a part of it.  Meet the Billings ladies….

Mr. A is another one of our adorable Bebe Collection members.  We first met the Pulley family last year at our Costumes & Cans event, and then shortly thereafter they came for maternity portraits shortly before little A was born.  He was a very welcome addition to his two big sisters; we think he may pass them up in size pretty soon, though! 🙂  Meet A….

Our 2nd annual Costumes & Cans event has come and gone and we can’t thank all those who participated enough, and thanks to the Silver Spoon children’s boutique for hosting.  Almost 1000 pounds of food was brought in from this event and the food bank was beyond thrilled.  Thanks again to all who took the time to come out and a special thanks to those who really went above and beyond in your donation.  The turnout was so much bigger than last year that we are already thinking about how to out-do it next year.  We won’t give all the details yet, but let’s just say we will be out for blood!

Thanks again for  taking the time and effort to participate in this event, your donations are really appreciated!  Here a a few of our faves from the day.

First off, let me just start out by apologizing for the length of time between blog posts of late; our 9 day absence while we were off on our workshop/cruise to Cabo and in San Diego for James’ brother’s wedding has felt more like we were gone for 19 days! Getting caught up during the busiest season of the year has been challenging, but at least those of you who follow us on Facebook know that we’re still alive and posting! Thanks for hanging with us!

Now, to the REAL point of this post…the handsome Mr. David! We started photographing J when he was about 3 months old and throughout his first year, and it was shocking to me that he was already here for his two-year portraits. J was a typical little boy who wanted to run and play, but not without giving us some looks to die for, as he always has! How can you not just melt at that shock of blonde curls and sweet little smile? We can’t wait to meet his brand-new baby brother…congrats to the David family!

Yep, it’s that time of year again! We are SO excited for this year’s Costumes & Cans event, which again will be held at the fabulous Silver Spoon Children’s Boutique (they moved, so make sure to go to their new location!). We had an amazing turnout last year and collected over 400 cans of food. We hope that this year will be even better, so be sure to invite all of your friends and family with little ghouls and goblins. This event is on a walk-in basis, and the first 2 hours are always the busiest, so if your kiddos are older and don’t nap, you might consider coming a little later if possible (just a suggestion based on last year!). New for this year is a costume contest, and the winner will receive prizes from Enchanted Images and the Silver Spoon!

We got to see one of our very favorite families, the Ferrell’s, this time for baby Ben’s 1 year portrait session. Those of you who have followed us for any amount of time have definitely seen these gorgeous kids before; we’ve photographed them so many times since we met them when mom was expecting Ben. This session was particularly special because the kids’ grandparents were visiting from Kansas City and joined in for their own portrait with the kids, which was then given to grandpa for his birthday gift (more on that later….we got to go to Napa to photograph the extended family on his birthday!). Ben literally has to be one of the happiest kids I’ve ever met….I can’t recall a time I ever saw him really unhappy. Speaks volumes to his wonderful parents….great kids come from great parents!

We were so excited to get to photograph the Lapp kids again, as we’ve known them since Reilly and T were 3 years old and in pre-school together. After he and Reilly were in class together both years at Adventure Christian Preschool, Teagan ended up in her preschool class their with twins S & R! It’s been great going throught the journey of preschool with this family and our kids at the same time. The twins are always dressed to the nines, so I knew it would be no different for their session…and I was right! The girls were absolutely adorable, and big brother wanted to show his “tough” side…he is 7 you know! Thanks for sharing your kids with us, and we’ll see you at preschool one more year!
