We first met the Weygandt family when they were just newlyweds, being photographed with their adorable bulldog for their holiday cards. We have since had the pleasure of photographing them on multiple occasions as we watched their family grow from just their canine babies to their first-born child, Mr. H. We documented his arrival, starting with their maternity session and culminating with his 1-year portraits. He was such an easy newborn to photograph! As H grew, we learned more about his personality, always very much the observer and not quick to give up his adorable smile. When he did, however, he just melted our hearts! Thank you Weygandts for sharing your little man with us!
We were thrilled to first meet the Beard family when they were expecting their first little miracle, baby J. We first started with their maternity session (some of you might recall momma in hubby’s firefighter turnouts!) and then documented J’s first year. We were thrilled when they announced that they were expecting baby #2, who we are debuting here. We love photographing and spending time with the Beard’s, who we now feel fortunate to call friends, not just clients. Baby P’s newborn session was no exception to the magic that always seem to happen during their sessions. They always come in with a few ideas that seem to translate into gorgeous! We love their willingness to experiment and go “outside the box” when it comes to their portrait sessions. We should mention that the darling image below of the brothers laying with dad’s gear happened spontaneously–when we mentioned to big brother that it was almost his turn, he went over and leaned down over the baby, thumb in mouth and all! Love him! Meet the Beard family, again!
We started documenting Miss K when she was still in mama’s tummy…fast-forward to her second Bebe session (my favorite age!!). Kudos to mom for all of the darling outfits and hair accessories, but K would have been adorable regardless; her million different expressions were accessory enough! 🙂 While K was awesome in the studio, it was a pretty cold & windy day outside, and she was pretty much over it by the time we ventured outdoors. We have to give a big thank you to K’s grandpa for saving the day outside and getting those last few amazing expressions! Meet Miss K (again…):
Since it’s cold and dreary outside, we thought you all might enjoy a flashback to summer and warmer times. At the end of summer we joined one of our favorite families in Lake Tahoe for a departure from our typical studio maternity sessions. We first met the Ferrell’s for Heidi’s last maternity session with baby #3, who is now a darling 2 year old boy. Fast forward a couple of years and they were back to document baby #4 (2nd girl) before she arrived in September. We were thrilled at the prospect of a beach maternity session on the shores of beautiful Lake Tahoe. The best part is that they trekked down hills and across boulders to get to a spot not completely packed with summer vacationers. The kids thought this was quite an adventure, of course! We had a wonderful time with them, as we always do, and the things that stand out in my mind the most about this session were Heidi’s willingness to try new things, and their ability as a couple to still connect and focus on each other as if this were their first baby, all while their other 3 children were on the verge of falling off rocks or jumping into the lake. Meet the fabulous Ferrell’s (again)!
We experienced quite a baby boom over the past several months at the studio, and the Fleming family contributed to that trend. We also saw another interesting phenomenon–babies being born so early that momma either missed her maternity session altogether or came very close! Tonya was one of those whose maternity session actually turned into baby Z’s newborn session. She brought him to us when he was just days old, along with big brother, to capture his tiny sweetness. Z was such a good boy and gave us the treat of seeing him both asleep and awake, which sometimes for babies that new doesn’t happen (they just sleep!). We’re looking forward to their next Bebe session to see how much he’s grown. Meet baby Z:
We were thrilled to get to work with the Fore family this summer on 2 separate occasions–for their maternity session and then baby K’s newborn session, which ended up being closer together since he decided to make his entrance over 3 weeks early! Since the sessions were so close together we decided to do a fun post with images from both. The maternity session was a blast and we just loved working with them, and we’re always thrilled when there are awesome tattoos to show! 🙂 Fast forward to sweet baby K…he was seriously one of the cutest newborns ever! I could have just stared at him all day, especially since he didn’t make a peep during his session (another bonus of getting them when they’re brand-new). We’re looking forward to seeing the Fore family back for their 2 other Bebe sessions over K’s first year….stay tuned!
We’ve been photographing the Morris family since big sis was just 6 weeks old. We’ve even had the pleasure of meeting and photographing Heather’s entire immediate family who gathered here from across the country. Heather, Matt & their kids have always had a special place in our hearts, so when we heard the news that Heather was expecting their 3 rd child (1st biological), we were overjoyed! It truly was a miracle! Suffice it to say, this maternity session had extra special significance for everyone involved. Their baby boy has since entered the world and we look forward to meeting the newest Morris very soon. Meet the Morris family:
Little Mr. G and his parents came to visit us for his final Bebe session, and it’s always bittersweet for us. In this case, we met the Cameto’s and started photographing them for their maternity session, and then continued on capturing baby G’s first year. We come to know and love these families that we are fortunate enough to spend so much time with, and then it’s well, sad, when the baby turns one and we know we probably won’t be seeing them quite as often anymore. G was one of the easiest baby’s to photograph in my recent memory, and we could have continued shooting forever the day of his last session. He was so darned cute in his “little professor” outfit as his dad called it, and I still just want to squeeze his cheeks every time I look back at these images. Thanks for a great year, Cameto family!
We knew from the first consultation that this was going to be a fun maternity session. S mentioned that she really wanted to go outside and by the railroad tracks with the bridge, so our minds immediately switched gears from a “traditional” maternity session. S & J had some of their wedding photographs taken by this very same stretch of tracks near our studio and thought it would be fun to go out there again and document this next exciting stage in their lives. We still did some studio work with them, and that was a blast, too. You can see below that we turned the “fashion fan” on her to help bring out her inner diva. Our favorites from the day, though, were definitely the last few images we got by the tracks. I just love the connection you can see between them, anticipating the arrival of their baby boy. A few short weeks later they welcomed their son. Meet the Bierer’s…
