It was high time the Hays family took some needed time off, and with my 20 year high school reunion in San Diego, Stef and I decided to stay a few more days and take the girls to Disneyland.

Good move. They just loved it. We were a little nervous after our last experience how the girls would do. Last time, Reilly refused to go on any of those ‘scary’ Fantastyland rides or anything like them so we were relagated to the carousel and Dumbo.

This time was much better and she was much more daring. Teagan of course was game for everything. The park was all dudded up for Halloween and New Orleans Square looked delightfully spooky. A great time, but not enough of it.

Next time we’re staying a week!!

No teacups for me. Hmm….I’m getting sick just looking at this photo…

Hightlight of day 2 for the girls. Come all the way to Disney…and get their faces painted.

This was the low spot. Hot, tired, and not interested in waiting in line.

A petting zoo at Disneyland??? I don’t remember that.

Best intentions….

We had been reading about the full scale replica of the Nina docked in Old Sacramento for a while and finally decided to take the girls to see it.

We were a day late…

So…we visited the old schoolhouse, had lunch and went to the treat shop, which disappointingly was more interesting to the girls than anyting Old Sac had to offer.

This scene lasted about 20 seconds…all the time it took Teagan to realize that chalk made really annoying sounds on the board.

Reilly read the list of punishments…and was not amused.

One hot momma!

Reilly’s toughest decision of the day. What to get at the treat shop.

Hey, those gymnastics lessons are paying off!

We had the good fortune of meeting the Ferrell family thanks to our friends at the Silver Spoon children’s boutique. Heidi and Brad are two of the nicest people you’ll ever meet, and holy cow what a gorgeous family!!! Okay, so they are all beautiful, but little Miss L was clearly trying to steal the show from her pretty mama. We liked this first image so much that we put a 30×40 of the full, vertical version on display at the Silver Spoon (we’re pretty sure Heidi and Brad liked it too, as they now have a beautifully framed 30×40 fine art canvas of their own!). What’s even more fun is that we got to meet the newest little Ferrell earlier today for his newborn session….stay tuned!

Brother & sis, N & G, came to us this time with some ideas of what they wanted for their portraits (they each got to choose one for their rooms). They’re both really into skateboarding right now, so they came with boards in hand ready for some fun, casual portraits to show how “cool” they are. They were so fun and ready to try anything James suggested, which included a little trip down to the Amtrak station in old Roseville (see last image). We just love venturing out to find interesting and out-of-the-ordinary spots for portraits, and this is one of our recent favs!
